If you look at the index on the first couple of pages, it seems the household examination record is split into two parts: first the years 1863-1872 and then the years 1873-1882.
Tossberg is found on page 57-64 and 165-171 respectively. Here they are in the household examination record 1873-1882:

I'm not quite sure exactly what that word means, and it seems to differ depending on the time and place. But it is not a profession, it has to do with status (like being a farmer or a crofter).In this case, it could possibly mean that he owned or rented the house but no longed owned or farmed any substantial land (so he was no longer a farmer). Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can give a better answer to that question!
