Herman Theodor Lundgren föddes i Norrköpings S:t Olai. Hans far var Garfvaren(?) Johan Wilhelm Lundgren. Födelsenotisen finns på Genline 346.94.70400 eller i kyrkoboken C:10 Födde Vigsel Död 1844-1861 0/48. Jag kan inte riktigt tyda moderns namn. Lägg ut frågan under Socken Norrköpings S:t Olai så får du säkert hjälp även med att tyda var i församlingen de bor.

Hi, I'm Herman's great great son.  As you might know, Herman went to Brazil, therefore we are brazilians. My father has done some extensive research on our family history. I was wondering if there is any more information on Johan Wilhem Lundgren and possibly his father as well, Carl Eric Lundgren.

We always thought that Herman was born in 1835. Is that a wrong assumption then?
I know its probably too much to ask, but is it possible to find birthdates of them?

We are also wondering if Carl Eric Lundgren participated in any war?

I can give you a lot information!


Herman Theodor Lundgren was born 1845-05 24 in Norrköping. He emigrated just 21 years old to Brazil 1866.
His father Johan Wilhelm Lundgren born 1815-07-03 in Gärdserum south of Norrköing where he was a tanner. Many of your male ancesters were tanners. They worked with leather.
His wife Eva Lovisa Severin was born 1813 in Norrköping. Johan Wilhelm died in Norrköping 1871-06-05 and Eva Lovisa died 1900 and is buried in Norrköping.


Johan Wilhelm´s father Carl Eric Lundgren was born 1783 in Teda parish north of Stockholm. He was a tanner and he died in Norrköping 1829-04-17. His parents were shoemaker Eric Lundgren and Sara Larsdotter.
Carl Eric´s wife Maria Cathrina Bogren was born 1790-06-30 in Arnö parish, died 1876. Her parents gardener Lars Bogren and Anna Hindriksdotter.


Eva Lovisa´s father was tanner Sven Severin born 1766 in Ringarum parish, died 1825 in Norrköping, son of tanner Sven Andersson and  Anna Pehrsdotter. Eva Lovisa´s mother Anna Catharina Ekenberg was born in Kila parish 1784 where her father Erik Ekenberg born 1755 was blacksmith, her mother Anna Gustafsdotter born 1757.

Yes, I'd love to know if I still have living relatives in Sweden. Also, we (my family and I) have a few questions.

First of all , I'm really amazed about the details of all provided information. Would it be possible to tell me where this was gathered from?

Is there any information on why Herman moved to Brazil?

We also would like to know if Carl Eric participated in the Russian-Swedish war of 1808-1809?

Carl Eric did not participate in the war 1808-1809. Before 1809 he worked as a tanner in Enköping and he got married to Maria Catharina Bogren 1809 and they moved to Gärdserum where they stayed until 1819 when they moved to Norrköping.  Johan Wilhelm Lundgren and Eva Lovisa Severin married 1842-10-30 in Norrköping. They had no children before that!
Children: Oscar Wilhelm 1844, Herman Teodor 1845, Viktor Julius 1847, Emma Augusta 1849, Carl Reinold 1851, Albert Emil 1853, Alfrid Edvard 1856. Why Herman Teodor and at least two of his brothers emigrated is not possible to find. Johan Wilhelm was extremly rich. Valuta 2023 about 4 402 000 REAL

I have solved the mystery! Born in Stockholm 1832-12-11 Herman Teodor Lundgren, father unknown, mother unmarried Maria Charlotta Lundgren born 1806. This Herman Teodor died 1855-05-19 in Maria Magdalena parish, Stockholm. So you can forget him!
