I am searching for information on my ggg-grand mother, Brita Johanna Jonasdotter Fagerholm Nyman b. 1828 (Finland or Sweden) d. 1919, Marshfield, Oregon, m. Karl Andersson Narvila-Nygard Nyman (1825-1883). Their daughter, Johanna Charlotta Karlsdotter Nyman Selander b. November 23, 1857 Karleby, Finland d. 1924 in Marshfield, Oregon. Johanna married Carl (Charles in the US) Johansson Silakka (Selander in the US) b. May 28, 1854 Karleby, Finland d. 1/28/1921, Marshfield, Oregon. They were married February 14, 1875 in Karleby, Finland.
Charles left Finland in 1880 for Michigan, US and then on to Oregon. Brita and Johanna left Karleby for the US sometime around mid September, 1882. The women traveled with Johanna's three children -all born in Karleby. Selma Johanna was 7 yr old, Lydia Charlotta was 5 yr old and Karl(Charles) Fredrik Karlsson Selander was 4 yr old.
I would like to find specific information regarding their dates of travel, route, vessel, destination - port of entry, dates of arrival in the US and names of others they may have traveled with, if possible.
Any information you can offer is greatly appreciated.
Thank You in advance.
Christine
