Genline help please:

In GID: 64.18.23600, line 4, Maria Andersson (born 17 March 1802 in Husby Oppunda) moved to ?? Helgelta ?? - There is also some writing crossed out. She would only be about 9 years old?

Any help much appreciated,

Regards,

Al

It looks like Maria moved to Helgesta parish, sometime after 15 Oct 1811, which would make her 9 or 10 years old.

Hi Al,

You can see Helgesta church on the map below, it is a half mile Easth-Sout-Easth from Flen.

Good morning to all,

I have checked the Helgesta  immigration records from 15 Oct 1811 to the end of 1812 for Maria but cannot find her!

Also her family she moved from in Frölöten do not appear in the 1813-1826  HFL register (Pehr Andersson, his wife and five children (GID: 64.18.23600).

Any ideas?

Regards,

Al

Hi Al,

Maria did move to Helgesta in 1811 but she was not listed in the immigration records as you said. This happens now and then but I can't say why but maybe in this case it could be because she was only 9 yrs old, maybe someone else can help you out with a better reason for that.

I have found her at:
HFL 1812-1818 Helgesta, GID: 65.19.42300, page 23.
HFL 1812-1818 Helgesta, GID: 65.19.45600, page 67.
HFL 1818-1824 Helgesta, GID: 65.20.61400, page 32.

This should get you back on track.

Have a nice day!

Don

Thanks for the help again Don,

I have now followed Maria's  moves up to 13 March 1839 in Husby Oppunda where she is married to a soldier and has four children (GID:64.22.91700). However they have moved to Nicolai and there are no immigration records for that year!

Her soldier husband, Anders Petter Broms, would be about 31 years old so I presume he would still be a soldier in Nicolai?

Kindest regards,

Al

Al,

I guess you didn't know that Maria had a twin sister, her name was Christina Pehrsdotter b Mar 17, 1802. The family you have posted at GID: 64.22.91700 is actually Maria's sister's family. Maria and her family you n find at GID:64.22.90400, page 164.

The birth record for the twins can be found at GID: 64.26.60700, first birth listed on the lefthand page.

Cheers,

Don

Hi Don,

It is my error!  I have been following the movements of both twin sisters and have got them mixed up – They were both married within one month of each other to a soldier in 1831! The first two entries in the Husby Oppunda marriage register for 1831 are Christina & Anders Petter Broms (26 April 1831) then Maria & Anders Hammar (23 May 1831)  (GID: 64.26.73000)

Christina had seven children and died on 7 Nov 1853.

Maria & Anders had 6 children and moved in 1858 but I cannot fully read the note (GID:64.11.47400). I think it to Westerlund?

Thanks for all your help,

Kindest regards,

Al

Another genline query!

In GID: 2171.16.38500 (1821-1825), Per Andersson, his wife (died 1823) and child are living at Johannislund. However Per and his son do not appear to live here in the next HFL register (1826-1830).

Any ideas appreciated,

First that he had received (fått) something November(?) 1799.

Then: Död 1835 7/7 uti Nyköping (dead 1835 7 July in Nyköping).

I think the next line is about the wife: Sjuk af lungsot och ofärdig (ill with lung disease and disabled).

Hi Al,

Förbundet sig betala årlig uppfosterings hjälp till Johanna Larsdotter.

He has pledged/promised to pay a yearly fee towards helping with the upbringing of Johanna Larsdotter.

I think this is right but if not then maybe someone else can help you.

Have a nice day!

I agree about the uppfostringshjälp, but it is very difficult to read Johanna's surname, it MIGHT be something other than Larsdotter.

The destination might be Bettna parish.

I have found August Andersson at GID:64.27.19100, line 14 and there is a even longer note in small writing!

I presume he is paying maintenance for a child born out of wedlock?

Thanks for all the help - it is much appreciated!

You were right Bo, Johanna's surname was not Larsdotter, it was actually Lundberg.

The note in the GID: 64.27.19100 record had some additional information to the first census record but with this additional info I was able to find the child's birth record. His name was Carl Eric b Oct 15, 1859, his birth record can be found at GID: 64.13.62200. Johanna and her two (oäkta) children can be found at GID: 64.11.37400, page 9 and then again at GID: 64.27.12200, page 9.

One other bit of info which the note says was the August Andersson was to pay child support for the next 15 years.
Hope this helps!
