Stefan, jag har kontakta min vän Lynn Johnson, som själv är uppvuxen i New Sweden, och som nu sedan några år bygger en databas över invånarna där.
Lynn skriver:
No, the first man is not Waldo Holmquist. I know I have seen that picture before but do not recall if he was identifiied. I'll see if I can locate anything on him. The man in the potato bin is Waldo Holmquist. In case there is anyone that is interested here is some of his information. (He was my first cousin twice removed)
Waldo Anders Holmquist was born in New Sweden, Maine July 25, 1890. He was the son of Jöns Andersson Holmqvist who was born on Feb 19 1865 in Gustav parish, Börringe, Malmöhus län, Skåne, Sweden (there are other records that state he was born in Blentorp Parish-I'll have to check on that??) and Mathilda Andersdotter who was born on June 27, 1866 in Dingtuna, Västmanlands län, Västmanland, Sweden. Jöns emigrated from from Nötesjo, Börringe, Malmöhus län (Skåne)on March 19, 1872. Mathilda emigrated from the the port of Göteborg, Sweden with his brother Eric and her father Anders Gustaf Olsson. (Anders Gustaf was my great-great grandfather) farfarmorfar (did I write that right?)
Waldo was the eldest of seven children and on April 03, 1913 he married Gerda Wilhelminia Storm (b. May 5, 1892 Westmanland, Maine) Gerda was my second cousin twice removed.
Waldo and Gerda had five children - three of which are still living.
Lynn avslutar med att hon ska försöka se om hon kan få fram vem den förste mannen var.
