I am trying to locate the family of:
 
Gertrude Beatrice Vilhelmina Bergstrom b.1905 and
m. Gustaf Gosta Edvard Ahlborg b.1904. with 2 children: Ulf b. 1938 and Boran (Goran?) b. 1941.
 
Gertrude's parents were Gustaf Bergstrom (1870) and Anna Vilhelmina Johansson (Johansdotter?) b. 1870.
 
Gertrude had other siblings:
1.Annie Viktoria Teresia (1896) m. Maufits Sjoberg (d. 1953) No children.
2.Ingeborg Astrid Helena (1899) m. Gustaf Robert Persson (1891) 1 child -- b. 1929 (Urban?)
3.Gustaf William (1901) m. Lilly (1907). 4 children: Roland (1930) became a teacher, Eric (1937), Gosta (1940) and Ingrid (1934).
4.Rut (Ruth?) Maria Karolina (1903) m. Abel Isaksson (1903) 3 children: Margareta (1933), Ingagardb (?) (1938) and Kerstin (1939).
5.Valborg Ester Emelia (1907) m. Karl Eric Jansson (1920)No children. Valborg a teacher.  
6. Sara Ellen Elisabeth (1910) m. Bertil Danielsson (1910)1 child Per (1948)
7.Karin Ebba Margareta (1911) m. Gustaf Gustafsson (1910)1 child Monika (1937).
 
I believe that Gustaf Bergstrom, Gertrud's father was from Goteborg Och Bohus but I don't know if these family members still live there.

Saras husband was born 23 of August 1910 in Säffle parish, Värmland. They married 23 of December 1945. Hi died 6 of December 1989 living in Lidköping.

Thank you, Lena! This is an AMAZING amount of information -- considering that the information I posted was from an OLD family genealogy given to my great-Aunt Ella (Bergstrom) by Gosta Ahlborg back in 1958!! It came into my hands from my grandmother, Dorothy Josephine Alexandria Bergstrom (1st child of Axel and his bride, Ida Josephina Christensson-Bergstrom), when I was a child. I kept it, hoping to find out more about my long lost Swedish family one day!!
 
Based on that family geneology, I believe that Gertrude's father, Gustaf Robert Bergstrom, was my great-grandfather, Alex (Alexander?) Thure Bergstrom's brother.  
 
Axel emmigrated from Sweden to the U.S. circa 1896 -- and I am told it was 3 years before his brothers, Carl (Johan?) and Jeremias (Known to our family here in the U.S. as Jerry) and a sister, Irma. (Axel is said to have traveled with a mysterious David Bergstrom that I cannot place any where in my family.)  
 
These America-bound siblings -- as well as Gustaf Robert were the children of Johan Edvard Bergstrom (1830 - 1910) and Inga Maria Johansson (Johansdotter) (1841 - 1921) and were, as I have been told, from Hanneberg in Orgryte parish Goteborg och Bohus. I believe there are at least 3 other children of Johan Edvard and Inga Maria -- an Elisabeth,Valfrid and Joel...but I cannot confirm these.
 
I was told by a second cousin that the Bergstroms that emmigrated to the U.S. brought along yet another brother named Knut Gerhard Bergstrom.... (I am wondering if Knut GERHARD is actually the brother we knew as Jerry? Maybe his name was actually Gerhard/GERRY and not Jeremias as we had thought?).
 
Is there any way I can look up these records? I'd like to find Johan's and Inga's parents, as well as the descendants of the children of Johan and Inga.  
 
I am so appreciative of your help and may I say -- in porbably the only Swedish I know tak!

I found Axel and David at the Emigrant CD.
 
Axel Bergström 15 year and David Bergström 17 year left Sweden 19 of February 1893 from the port of Göteborg. It's not listed wich parish they are from. The sourscode for both of them are 50:127:6681. They left for New York.
 
At Ellis Island site I found this on David and Axel.

Everything I saw from your research does seem correct -- I managed to find the original ship's manifest on another website that carries lost manifests from Ellis Island. (You may have noticed that sometimes records on the Ellis Island Website do not match up when you do searches and then try to look at the manifest with the person you have selected.) If you are interested in this site, please let me know and I'll give you the link.
 
Back to my Axel/David research:
 
The only puzzle to me is Axel's age on the Ellis Island record. I have his birth year as 1874. If that is correct, then the age of Axel should have been 19 yrs in that Ellis Island record if that was he that came to the US in 1893.
 
I know that the records could be off somewhere along the line. I am currently waiting for his death certificate; I suppose I need to also look for a copy of his birth certificate to establish that I do, indeed, have the correct birth date....I hope we have the right one or someone is going to have to change his headstone!! :-(  
 
I have one more question -- I heard that when persons were planning to emmigrate from Sweden that they had to get papers -- were these like passports, or visas or green cards? Are those records preserved in Sweden? If so -- do you know how they can be obtained?

All I know is that every person should have a certificate of change of address when they moved from one parish to another. I'm note sure what they have to have when they moved to USA but I do hope that someone could tell you about it.
